Central Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy: 2014 judging panel and permanent Head Judge appointed

Inaugural Central Canada LeatherSIR and Leatherboy contests to take place Saturday, April 19

(Toronto, Canada) — Producers of the Central Canada LeatherSIR / Leatherboy (CCLSb) today announced the panel of judges for the 2014 contests, as well as the appointment of a permanent Head Judge for future years’ panels. The CCLSb contests will take place in Toronto on Saturday, April 19, part of the CCLSb / Community Bootblack weekend, which will run Thursday, April 17 through Sunday, April 20, the Easter long-weekend. The weekend will feature seven events over four days. The Presenting Sponsor of CCLSb/CCCB 2014 is Steamworks Baths.

Members of the panel of judges for the 2014 CCLSb contests, will be:

  • Sir George Saltzman, International LeatherSIR 2013, from Phoenix, Arizona; and from Toronto, Ontario,
  • Master Tony Palazzo, International LeatherSIR 2009
  • Master R, Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2013
  • Dominic, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2013, and
  • Seb, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2003.

The producers also announced the appointment of Master Tony Palazzo as the permanent Head Judge for the CCLSb panel of judges. Master Tony was Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2009, and went on to win International LeatherSIR 2009. Master Tony is the recipient of the Pantheon of Leather 2011 Canadian Award, Heart of the Flag Federation’s 2012 Man of the Year Award and a 2014 Award of Appreciation from the board of directors of Spearhead LDSC. Master Tony is a well-known and respected educator who has presented workshops at numerous Toronto, Canadian and international events. Additional biographical information is available at his website, dragonmstr.com.

The inaugural CCLSb/CCBB contest weekend will depend on a roster of talented and dedicated volunteers. Assisting as contest staff this year are five Toronto leather people: Iain Bennett, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2011, will serve as Tally Master; Alex Condie, Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2012, will serve as Judge’s boy; Dan Madden will be Den Daddy; Fenn, Mr International Rubber 2010, will be Stage Manager; and, Gloria McIsaac, will be Box Office Manager. Our dedicated team of volunteers assisting with operations will include Darcy Fonseca, Jason Forbes and Paul Hilderbrandt. Returning as emcee for the contest is Tom Stice, International slave 1995 and Southeast Mr Drummer 1998, of Chicago (IL).

Noteworthy is Seb’s 10th anniversary of judging this region’s LeatherSIR/Leatherboy contest, as he judged in 2004, as he stepped from his title year as Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2003. The contest weekend will also be the official regional step-downs for Master R and boy Dominic, who are the last to hold their respective “Eastern Canada” titles, as the region has been restructured to create Central Canada; see below.

LeatherSIR/Leatherboy are “player’s titles” — erotic titles representing the sexual side of gay leather men. The primary goal of CCLSb is networking and outreach, to help educate the community about leather men, our erotic expression, traditions and history – and of course, BDSM and hot leather sex! CCLSb contestants will be judged in four categories: Interview; Speech & Image; Physique; and Fantasy Scene. The contestant’s interview portion will take place in private with the judges prior to the contest; the three remaining categories take place on stage during the contest. The leather sex Fantasy Scene portion of the contest is one thing that sets CCLSb apart from many other contests styled after International Mr. Leather or Mid-Atlantic Leather formats.

Steamworks Baths Toronto (www.SteamworksBaths.com) is the Presenting Sponsor and Official Bathhouse of CCLSb/CCCB 2014. Community Partners confirmed to date include Club120 (www.Club120.ca), Spearhead Toronto (www.SpearheadToronto.com), the Churchmouse (www.FirkinPubs.com), Black Eagle Toronto (www.BlackEagleToronto.com) and CLAW (www.clawinfo.org).

Central Canada LeatherSIR / Leatherboy and Central Canada Community Bootblack are produced by Brandon Matheson (Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2004) and Dan Falkenham (Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2004), who have produced the Eastern Canada contest since 2005.
