Contestant registration for the Eastern Canada LeatherSIR / Leatherboy 2012 contest is now open.

Even though you (or someone you know) might not yet be ready to commit, anyone whose curiosity about competing is piqued, is encouraged to contact the contest producers with questions (see below).

The ECLSb contest will take place Saturday, February 18, 2012 in Toronto. It’s the main event of the contest weekend which runs Friday, February 17 through Monday, February 20 (the ‘Family Day’ holiday weekend in Ontario).

The contest is open to leathermen and leatherboys who are residents of Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada. Note, this is not a couples contest; contestants compete individually for each title. Learn more about contestant requirements.

The winners of ECLSb will advance to compete at the 2012 International LeatherSIR/Leatherboy contest weekend in San Francisco (your hotel and air expenses paid!). ISLb will take place Thursday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29 in San Francisco, coinciding with the Dore Alley leather street fair!

CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET & DUNGEON!

Rough House, the popular Toronto BDSM dungeon-cum-house party event, is expanding its roster of events with three new party dates to be held at Steamworks Toronto (540 Church Street, Level 2).

Rough House is well established at Goodhandy’s, where the event has been held since 2009. The addition of a second series of Rough House events to be held at Steamworks will provide Rough House players with options of a larger event calendar and the variety of two venues.

The inaugural Rough House at Steamworks was held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 and was a huge success, with a waiting list for rooms by 2:30. The event featured BDSM demos held in the gym area, public play and ‘rough housing,’ a special watersports area, and a sleepsack/sounding demo broadcast from Room 122 over the club’s closed circuit TV.

The next Rough House events at Steamworks will take place on November 27, and in the New Year on January 22 and March 11. Each event is on a Sunday and runs from 2pm to 7pm.

ECLSb 2012 weekend will begin with the official MEAT & GREET at Black Eagle Toronto (10pm. Fri, Feb 17. 457 Church St). Meet and mingle with contestants, judges, out of town guests and local leather folk. Black Eagle Toronto has been a strong supporter of the ECLSb contest since holding the first ECLSb contest in the bar in 2003.

The weekend’s main event will be the Eastern Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy 2012 contest, which will take place Saturday, February 18 at Goodhandy’s (120 Church St, at Richmond). Please note, the contest will be held at a new earlier time! Doors will open at 12:30pm; the contest will start at 1:30pm sharp! Admission will be $10, with proceeds to ECLSb travel fund.

Saturday night survivors will be up in time for the butchest brunch in town. Join the new ECLSb titleholders at a special ECLSb VICTORY BRUNCH at the Churchmouse & Firkin (11am-2pm. Sun, Feb 19. Upstairs, 475 Church St). Since 2009, the Churchmouse & Firkin has been an important Community Partner with ECLSb. The 2012 contest weekend will mark the 4th ECLSb Victory Brunch held at the pub.

Special guests at the MEAT & GREET and VICTORY BRUNCH will include International LeatherSIR 2011 Alan Penrod, from Atlanta (GA); International Leatherboy 2011 pup Nitro, from Atlanta (GA); and International Community Bootblack 2011 Luna, from Oakland (CA). LeatherSIR/Leatherboy are “player’s titles,” erotic titles representing the sexual side of gay leather men. The primary goal of ECLSb is networking and outreach, to help educate the community about leather men, our erotic expression, traditions and history — and of course, BDSM and hot leather sex!

ECLSb contestants will be judged in four categories: Interview; Speech & Image; Physique; and Leather Sex Fantasy based on the region’s assigned theme. The contestant’s interview portion will take place in private with the judges prior to the contest; the three remaining categories take place on stage during the contest. Contestants must incorporate the Retro theme into their fantasy scene performed on stage during the contest. The theme is open to a wide range of BDSM play skills. The fantasy portion is what sets the ECLSb contest apart from many other contests styled after the International Mr. Leather and Mid-Atlantic Leather formats.

Eastern Canada LeatherSIR 2011 Master Chuck and Eastern Canada Leatherboy 2011 boy iain will be in Calgary for Western Canada LeatherSIR/Leatherboy and Community Bootblack 2012, November 18–20, 2011.

In addition to Judging duties, Master Chuck and boy iain will be presenting Get Zapped – Electro-stimulation and electrotorture play, equipment, and considerations within scenes as part of the weekend’s events.
